Teachers, students, and members of civil society in Galachipa upazila of Patuakhali have expressed heartfelt gratitude to former Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Mohiuddin Al Helal for his significant contributions to human resource development and the advancement of the local education system.

On Saturday, 24 January, Mohiuddin Al Helal—currently Senior Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Private Secretary to the Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser—visited the 50-bed hospital in Galachipa Sadar. After the visit, he took part in a discussion session jointly organised by the Upazila Administration and The SEAL Foundation, titled “The Future World and New Bangladesh: Preparing the Next Generation.” He interacted with meritorious students from various educational institutions.
During the event, he underscored the importance of academic excellence, disciplined living, moral values, patriotism, and acquiring essential skills to face future challenges. His inspiring remarks generated a strong response from the audience. Students were visibly delighted to meet him again after a long time.
Among those present were Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Mahmudul Hasan, primary and secondary education officials, teachers, students, parents, journalists, and other distinguished local residents. Speakers at the event acknowledged and appreciated his notable contributions to improving the quality of education in the upazila.
Mohiuddin Al Helal joined Galachipa upazila as UNO on 7 September 2022 and served until 1 October 2024. During his tenure, he developed a remarkably deep connection with local residents—something uncommon among government administrators.
From the very beginning of his assignment, he prioritised good governance, development initiatives, and especially the education sector. He regularly visited schools in remote areas to ensure quality learning opportunities. To strengthen students’ academic engagement, he introduced an evaluation system modeled after board examinations. High-performing students received scholarships, while underperforming institutions were identified for targeted improvement efforts. These initiatives brought measurable progress to the academic landscape of Galachipa, leaving a positive impact across the region.

To encourage co-curricular activities alongside formal education, he established the Galachipa Skill Lab, which later evolved into The SEAL Foundation. Through this platform, students gained access to training in artificial intelligence, robotics, and other modern disciplines—cultivating early interest in technology and innovation. In addition, he initiated annual scholarships, recognition programmes for meritorious students, and financial support for talented learners from underprivileged backgrounds—hallmarks of his continued humanitarian commitment.
